We’ve reached 2 MILLION Meals provided to pets in need!
I can hardly believe it—this feels like a dream come true. What an absolutely surreal milestone for Pets Of The Homeless. 2 MILLION MEALS. Let that sink in. It’s a number so staggering, it almost doesn’t seem real.
That’s 2 million times we’ve ensured a pet didn’t go hungry.
It’s 2 million bowls of nourishment, comfort, and hope.
It’s 2 million moments where someone struggling didn’t have to face the impossible choice between feeding themselves or their beloved pet.
When I look back at where this all began, I’m overwhelmed. Nine years ago, I hit the streets of Melbourne with a suitcase full of pet food and a simple desire to give back. That was the spark that lit the fire for Pets Of The Homeless. What started as a humble effort to help people and their pets stay together has grown into something I never could have imagined.
In 2019, we established Victoria’s first-ever Pet Food Bank, a milestone that marked the start of something extraordinary. Today, our dedicated team of volunteers pack over 44,000 meals every month and these meals are distributed through our network of 65+ community partners across the state, ensuring that pets and their people receive the support they need, wherever they are.
Every meal tells a story—of a pet who stayed healthy, a person who felt seen, and a bond that remained unbroken.
It’s 2 million moments where we’ve stood by our mission: to keep vulnerable people and their pets together during life’s hardest times.
I couldn’t be prouder of our incredible team and volunteers who make this possible. Thanks to their commitment, these meals reach local food pantries, soup kitchens and outreach programs, helping people who are facing homelessness, domestic violence, or financial hardship.
To everyone who has donated, your generosity doesn’t just feed pets; it keeps families together. Every bag of food, every dollar, every ounce of support sends a clear message: You and your pet matter.
As I reflect on how far we’ve come, I know we’re just getting started. Reaching 2 million meals is proof of what we can achieve when we come together for a common cause. I’ll never stop fighting to ensure no one has to say goodbye to their beloved companion because of tough circumstances.
Thank you for standing with us, believing in this mission, and helping us bring hope to so many people and pets. Together, we’ll keep making an impact—one meal, one pet, one family at a time.
Love,
Yvonne
