Our Biggest Ever Giving Day

07 Nov 2025

Across Victoria, the rising cost of living is placing enormous pressure on families. More people are facing homelessness, living week-to-week, or having to make heartbreaking choices about the pets they love most.

At Pets Of The Homeless, we believe no one should have to give up their best friend to survive. And thanks to our incredible community, we’ve now reached two major milestones that remind us just how powerful compassion can be.

10 years of keeping best friends together
More than 40,000 nights of safe shelter provided to pets in crisis

These aren’t just numbers to us. They represent real people, real families, and thousands of pets who were able to stay connected to the humans who love them most.

For single mum of two, Noeline Sopp, her dog Ghost is family.

When her family faced homelessness, they had nowhere for Ghost to go — until Pets Of The Homeless stepped in.

Ghost is now safe in a loving foster home while Noeline works to secure pet-friendly housing.

“I am so happy that I know he is being taken care of,”  Noeline shares.“I am not giving up on him because of our circumstances. He is loyal to me, and I will be loyal to him.”

Noeline’s story isn’t unique.

Every week, more families turn to us because they simply don’t have another option.

With shelter overflow at an all-time high, the need for our community’s support has never been greater.

Help keep best friends together this Giving Day

Our annual Never Tear Them Apart Giving Day is here — and this year, every donation made from now until Wednesday 12 November will be tripled thanks to some generous gift matchers.

That means your kindness will have three times the impact.

To mark 10 years of supporting people and their pets, we’re aiming big: $450,000 to change more lives than ever before!

This funding will allow us to continue providing safe shelter, food, and critical vet care to the families who rely on us every single day.

Our dream is simple: a community where no one is forced to give up their pet due to hardship. But we can’t do it alone.

"If our community rallies together, we will be able to focus all of our efforts on helping people and pets for an entire year,”  Pets Of The Homeless Founder & CEO, Yvonne says.“But we can’t do this without your support.”

If you’re able to help, now is the time. Together, we can make sure no one is ever separated from the pet they love.

Thank you for standing with us — and for helping keep best friends together.
